You Disappoint Me

So I tried my first Essie. I'd gotten a set of mini's called the Wedding Collection and wanted to first wear Borrowed and Blue, because everyone knows how much I love blue polishes!

Well... It was AWFUL! Being a high-priced (any polish over $5 is expensive to me) Essie, I expected it to be a dream but it was far from that. This junk was thick and streaky. Patchy and just had the worst application! It bubbled like crazy, but I was able to smooth that out, for the most part, with top coat. Pretty much the only good thing about this was that it dried pretty fast. But other than that, it makes me really not want to even try the other 3!

It is a really pretty color, I just wish it had been a better polish! It would be a really gorgeous Easter color! ^.^

'Tis all for today. Do you have any Essie's that you loved or hated?

Buenos días. =)

Essie's seem to be hit or miss. Most of mine are very thin and there is always cuticle pooling, which makes me want to throw the bottle. I've never had one that it too thick. But... they do have some lovely colors!

My issue with them, though, is... Is the trouble worth the price? Idk, I do really like the color, but it's such a pain! =P
Omg really? I've never had any problem with the Essie's I have. I have borrowed & blue and it works great for me. It could of had something to do with it being in a mini, I tend to have issues with application with mini bottles more than reg size. :( Hopefully the others work better for you.

I hope so, too because I had really high expectations for Essie!
This is the only one I've tried, so hopefully the rest will be better!!
It's such a pretty baby blue, I never had applying issues with Essie, first coat often is streaky, but the second have done the trick for me - I hope/think your bottle just need a bit of thinning...

That's what I was thinking, to use some thinner. Hopefully it'll help!
Too bad about the applying part, but it looks amazing!

Essie is one of my favorite brands and I HATED Borrowed & Blue. I wanted to love it so much, but it was awful! I'm hoping that this year's Wedding collection is more cooperative.

Good, it's not just me, then! :D
Oh no! Sorry to hear you had this bad experience with Essie! As you know, I love Essie! I do agree that the price is high, but I always get mine at a discount beauty store or online. I do find that some colors have that problem, but most seem to work fine with me. I hope the other three you got apply better!

Thanks, I hope they are better, too!
Essie and I have a love hate relationship. I don't like their light colors at all, but the darker ones are usually pretty good for me so I stick with those! It is a pretty blue though!

Thanks! I keep hearing the dark colors are better, so hopefully the red one will at least work out for me! :)
I have only one Essie (besides Shine of the Times) and the only problem I have is that its runny. So I hope that your others arent a disappointment to you. I find Essie is really good for the most part. but yea it is a bit expensive. GOOD LUCK

Thank you! I'm hoping the others will be better!
Essies are usually hit or miss for me also. There are a couple that I love and some that are just really watery and streaky. I don't really like paying full price for them. I found a lot on sale for $2 at my Trade Secret before they went out of business, so most of my Essies were from there. Now if there's one that I really want, I'll purchase it from trans design.

Essie for $2?! Wow! I wish I could find deals like that around here! =P
Bummer....still a sweet colour tho!

I love this color light blue and I haven't something similar yet :o ). So you gave me an inspiration ;o). Other colors are very cute. Have a nice day. Xoxo V.V.

I love Essie but I think light ccolorsnhave problems all their own with any brand. Try the darker color it may just be a bad set.

I've heard their darker colors are better, so I hope the red one will work. I got them super cheap, so I guess it's not too much of a disappointment anyway. =P
I agree, Essie often has bad formula. OPI is better choice for an expensive nail polish, in my opinion!

I've actually never tried anything from OPI, but I'd like to! They seem to be really good for the most part, from everything I've heard.
That sucks but I think you may have gotten a bad one, all the Essie's I've tried have been good.

I hope the others I try are much better! I had such high hopes for Essie! =P
Like many people have been saying Essie seems to be hit or miss. I like most of mine though. Don't give up :P
